Liam Bell - Machinery Compliance Consultant

My career in machinery safety began in July 2016. After graduating from Coventry University in 2015 with a second class bachelors in motorsport engineering and taking a year out to travel abroad, I came back to the UK with the intention of entering into the automotive manufacturing industry.

I took my first job in automation as a Technical Author for a line integrator and robotics manufacturer called Comau, part of Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles).

It was at Comau that I was introduced to machinery safety and after a year of writing operation manuals and maintenance schedules, I was presented with an opportunity to take on the role of Safety Engineer and trained for the following three years in the endlessly perplexing world of design risk assessment and CE marking.

At the start of the pandemic in 2020, I took on a new challenge and joined Pilz as a Machinery Safety Consultant where I was exposed to multiple new industrial sectors and different types of machinery both state of the art and machines which had been in service from as far back as the 1940s!

After two years at Pilz, I took on a new opportunity with the Expert Technologies Group as a Machinery Compliance Manager where I acted as the groups central authority on CE/UKCA marking.

Now I've started Neuguard. For me Neuguard is an opportunity to deliver safe, flexible and compliant solutions to clients at a cost that isn't going to break the bank for either Neuguard or its clients.

Nemo - Head of Morale

Honestly, sometimes, Neuguard's head of morale can be the single biggest threat to machinery safety that the industry has ever faced.

Since March 2020, the boy has done nothing but leisurely walk in front of webcams during important safety calls, sit on unattended keyboards and completely destroy design risk assessments and pounced out of the shadows to attack legs whilst people are walking by to get their morning coffee!

However, despite the menace he brings to the game, he provides a greater value with morale boosting head nudges, nose licks, biscuit needing and squeeky sighs as he naps. He's an invaluable part of the Neuguard machine and for his services he has accepted a salary of no less than one Sheba pouch per day in addition to his unlimited supply of dry food.

Nemo's a sucker, he could have negotiated two!

Nemo is a polydactyl ginger tabby weighing a hefty 8kgs. He's not chonky, he is just a very big cat!

When he's not trying to reverse engineer all of Liam's brilliant and innovative solutions, in his spare time he likes to hunt mice, squirrels and birds, sleep, chase lasers and claw carpets.

Neuguard is a small business based in the centre of the UK, Coventry.

Basing the business in Coventry gives Neuguard a strategic advantage for serving clients in the UK's manufacturing sector however, there is no location that Neuguard wouldn't cover both within the UK or internationally.
